Jio Platforms' initial public offering was subscribed 3.04 times on its first day, 21 October 2026, according to HDFC Sky's update at 5:55 pm. The figures are for day one only and can change before the issue closes on 23 October. The issue is ₹30,213 crore at ₹1,065–₹1,119 a share, made up of 27 crore fresh shares.

Demand by category

Qualified institutional buyers (excluding anchors) bid 9.04 times their portion. Non-institutional investors bid 1.61 times, with bids above ₹10 lakh at 1.75 times and below it at 1.33 times. Employees were at 1.33 times and shareholders at 1.41 times. Retail investors bid 0.73 times. The Tribune, using an earlier 5 pm count, reported 3.01 times overall, with about 59.44 crore shares bid against 19.75 crore on offer, and retail as the only category not fully subscribed.

How fast, and how large

The Tribune says the issue was fully subscribed within 100 minutes of opening and calls it the fastest IPO in India to reach full subscription. Business Standard's morning report said it was fully subscribed in under 35 minutes, on a figure of 1.01 times at about 10:34 am, so the reports differ on timing. The Tribune puts total demand at about ₹74,610 crore including anchors, and the value of the company at about $108 billion at the upper price band. It compares this with Hyundai Motor India's ₹27,870 crore IPO in 2024, which was 18% subscribed at the end of its first day. Unlike Hyundai's, Jio's issue is a fresh issue, so the money goes to the company.

Dates ahead

The issue closes on 23 October. HDFC Sky lists allotment on 26 October, refunds and share credit on 27 October and a tentative listing on 28 October. Neither report gives a grey market premium.

Key numbers

  • Overall, day 1: 3.04 times (As of 5:55 pm, 21 October)
  • Institutional (QIB): 9.04 times (Excluding anchors)
  • Retail: 0.73 times (Not fully subscribed)
  • Issue size: ₹30,213 crore (27 crore fresh shares)

What boards and CFOs should note

Three points stand out. First, institutional demand drove the first day, while retail was still below one times. Second, day-one numbers often shift by the close, so final subscription is the figure to watch. Third, the reports disagree on how fast the issue filled.
