The government scheduled the 24th instalment of PM-KISAN for release on 30 October 2026, covering more than 9.34 crore farmers and a direct-benefit transfer of over ₹18,690 crore. The programme was set for Banaskantha, Gujarat, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
PM-KISAN provides eligible farmer families with income support through direct transfers. The first 23 instalments had disbursed more than ₹4.47 lakh crore, the ministry said.
The transfer is paired with farm-infrastructure measures
The programme also includes the dedication of 521 completed units under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund. A separate Prime Minister's Office programme note placed their total project cost at around ₹4,950 crore and said they include cold stores, warehouses, silos, processing facilities, polyhouses and greenhouses.
Twelve approved horticulture clusters are also due to begin on-ground activity. The PMO said the clusters cover about 1.46 lakh hectares and are expected to benefit more than 1.3 lakh farmers, with two North Gujarat clusters focused on potatoes.
The measures address different parts of the farm economy. PM-KISAN is household income support, while the infrastructure fund and horticulture clusters target storage, processing, value chains and crop specialisation.
Eligibility and account validation remain important
Aggregate beneficiary and transfer figures do not mean every farmer receives payment automatically. Eligibility, land and identity records, electronic know-your-customer requirements and validated bank details determine whether a payment reaches an individual account.
Farm households should use official PM-KISAN channels to review beneficiary status and resolve record mismatches. Businesses and advisers should avoid treating an announced aggregate as evidence that each payment has settled until transaction status is confirmed.
The instalment adds to a large cumulative programme
The latest tranche is approximately ₹2,000 per covered beneficiary, consistent with PM-KISAN's instalment structure. The programme provides annual support in multiple transfers rather than as a single yearly payment.
The linked infrastructure investments may have a longer operating impact than the transfer itself, but results will depend on utilisation, market access, maintenance and farmer participation after commissioning.
