Ultraviolette launched the X-47 Venom, an electric motorcycle priced at ₹2.65 lakh for the first 5,000 customers, according to Inc42's report of 23 October 2026. It is the Bengaluru company's first motorcycle on the new VX-100 100V platform. Bookings opened on 22 October, and deliveries are expected to start in November, per the company's press release. Spectate Media has not seen the release, and the performance figures below are the company's claims.
The motorcycle and the platform
The bike has a peak power of 30 kW, or 39 bhp, wheel torque of 550 Nm and a claimed range of 343 km on the IDC cycle. The company says it reaches 100 km/h from rest in 5.9 seconds, is built for a top speed of 155 km/h and weighs 180 kg, up to 20 kg lighter than the previous platform. For the VX-100 platform, Ultraviolette claims up to 20% higher energy density in its SRB-11 battery and twice the cooling performance. It also claims heat dissipation up to 50% faster, an IP67-rated cast-aluminium battery housing, and a motor control unit twice as compact with three times the power density. Co-founder and chief technology officer Niraj Rajmohan said the X-47 Venom reflects an approach "to engineering the entire motorcycle as one integrated system."
Funding and capacity
The company raised $85 million, about ₹813 crore, in a Series E round co-led by Yali Capital and TDK Ventures, for manufacturing capacity, products and distribution in India and overseas. It plans to invest more than ₹1,000 crore over five years. Installed capacity is about 30,000 vehicles a year in Bengaluru, being expanded to 50,000 to 60,000, and a planned factory called BIGGA is meant to make up to 2.5 lakh vehicles a year in its first phase. Exports are expected to be about 25% of revenue over the next five years. An electric scooter and e-bike are planned over the next few months.
Key numbers
- Introductory price: ₹2.65 lakh (First 5,000 customers)
- Claimed range: 343 km (IDC cycle, company claim)
- Series E: $85 million (About ₹813 crore)
- Planned factory: 2.5 lakh vehicles a year (BIGGA, first phase)
What boards and CFOs should note
Three points stand out. First, the specifications are the company's claims and are not independently tested. Second, the introductory price applies to only the first 5,000 customers. Third, the capacity plan is far larger than current output, so execution is the figure to watch.
