Tech Mahindra reported consolidated net profit of ₹1,586 crore for the second quarter of FY27, up 33% from a year earlier and 8.2% from the previous quarter, according to IIFL. Revenue was ₹16,180 crore, up 15.6%. The board also declared an interim dividend and recommended a one-for-one bonus issue.

The headline numbers

Revenue grew 3% on the previous quarter. In dollar terms it was $1.693 billion, a sequential rise of 2%. EBIT, which is operating profit before interest and tax, came to ₹2,387 crore. The report gives that as up 40.5%, without naming the comparison period, and up 5.4% from the previous quarter. EBIT margin was 14.8%, up 40 basis points from 14.4% in the June quarter.

The source text refers once to a quarter ended June 2024, although its headline and the rest of the report point to the September 2026 quarter. The company's exchange filing is the place to confirm the reporting period.

Deal wins

Total contract value of new deals was $1.023 billion. The report does not split this by client or sector, and it gives no figure for the previous quarter or a year earlier.

Returns to shareholders

The board declared an interim dividend of ₹15 per share, which is 300% of the ₹5 face value. The record date is 23 October 2026 and the dividend is to be paid by 13 November 2026.

It also recommended a bonus issue of one share for every share held. That proposal needs shareholder approval, and the record date for it has not been announced. Alongside it, the board proposed raising authorised share capital from ₹924.3 crore to ₹1,000 crore, which is also subject to approvals.

What the report leaves out

The article does not give headcount, attrition or any comment from management. It also does not say how the profit compares with analyst estimates. Segment revenue, margins by business and the outlook would have to come from the company's results release and investor presentation.

Key numbers

  • Net profit: ₹1,586 cr (+33% YoY)
  • Revenue: ₹16,180 cr (+15.6% YoY)
  • EBIT margin: 14.8% (+40 bps QoQ)
  • New deal TCV: $1.023 bn (Q2 FY27)

What boards and CFOs should note

Three points stand out for finance teams. First, profit grew faster than revenue, at 33% against 15.6% on the year. Second, EBIT margin moved up by 40 basis points from the previous quarter. Third, the dividend and the bonus issue are separate steps: the dividend has been declared with record and payment dates, while the bonus issue is only recommended and still needs approvals.
