French alcoholic beverages producer Pernod Ricard has registered a significant 19 percent expansion in sales across the Indian market during the September quarter. This performance stands out against downturns experienced in other major international regions. The enterprise continues to view India as a primary focus market supported by dynamic consumer fundamentals.

The robust quarterly performance encompasses broad-based expansion across the product portfolio. Imported spirits achieved strong double-digit increases, led by labels such as Jameson, Absolut, and Ballantine's. Simultaneously, Seagram's whiskies including Royal Stag and Blenders Pride delivered similarly strong double-digit growth rates.

Management attributed a portion of the quarterly sales acceleration to specific preparatory measures undertaken for a potential initial public offering in the country. These actions created a favourable pipeline-filling effect that boosted reported figures for the period. Underlying sales advanced in the high single-digit range, supported further by the Maharashtra comparison base.

The business advanced certain shipments to prevent any potential supply disruptions for consumers during a corporate transition. This operational shift followed a name change that required product relabelling. These proactive logistical steps contributed directly to the pipe-fill benefits noted during the earnings call.

In contrast to the positive momentum in India, the group experienced contractions in other key territories. Sales dropped by 10 percent in the United States, which remains the company's largest market globally. Meanwhile, the Chinese market saw a sharper decrease of 25 percent, with both regions affected by ongoing inventory adjustments.

At the consolidated group level, net sales decreased by 6 percent to reach 2.23 billion Euros, moving down from 2.38 billion Euros in the corresponding period of the previous financial year. The firm's corporate financial calendar operates from July 1 through to June 30.

Regarding the prospective public offering, executive leadership confirmed that preparations are ongoing at the direction of directors. However, the final determination to proceed with the share issuance remains subject to formal board approval. The company operates as the largest alcoholic beverage player within the Indian market.
