Nestlé India reported consolidated net profit of ₹1,009.6 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026, up 35.9% from a year earlier, according to Business Standard. Revenue from operations was ₹6,788.3 crore, up 20.3%. The company announced the results on 15 October 2026, and its shares closed 7.5% lower that day.

The headline numbers

EBITDA rose 31.8% to ₹1,618.6 crore. The report does not give margins. Advertising and marketing spend rose 46% over the year, which is faster than revenue or EBITDA grew. The company reported double-digit volume growth across all of its product groups, though the report gives no exact percentage and no figure for price growth.

Where growth came from

Confectionery grew by double digits on volume, with gains in market share for KitKat and momentum in Munch and Milkybar. Powdered products and liquid beverages grew on volume, prepared dishes and cooking aids grew strongly, and milk and nutrition grew across the range. Pet food also grew by double digits.

By channel, e-commerce was strong, led by quick commerce. General trade grew by double digits across town classes, led by rural markets.

Management's view on costs

Chairman and Managing Director Manish Tiwary said the company is focused on handling external challenges through innovation, brand investment, and gains in productivity and efficiency that offset commodity cost pressure. The company's outlook on commodities was mixed. It expects coffee and wheat to stay range-bound, and sugar and edible oils to remain stable at elevated levels. Cocoa is volatile because of weather-related crop concerns in key producing areas. Milk prices rose seasonally but should ease as supplies improve.

The stock reaction

Nestlé India shares closed 7.5% lower at ₹1,280 on the BSE on 15 October, after touching an intraday low of ₹1,259.70. The report attributes the fall to the company's warning about rising inflation, in particular food inflation. It was the biggest loser among the Nifty 50 stocks that day and the steepest single-day fall since 23 March 2020. The report mentions no brokerage ratings or target prices.

Key numbers

  • Net profit: ₹1,009.6 cr (+35.9% YoY)
  • Revenue: ₹6,788.3 cr (+20.3% YoY)
  • EBITDA: ₹1,618.6 cr (+31.8% YoY)

What boards and CFOs should note

Three points stand out for finance teams. First, profit and revenue growth were strong, yet the report attributes the share fall to the company's warning on inflation. Second, advertising and marketing spend grew faster than sales, at 46% against 20.3%, and management links brand investment and efficiency to coping with commodity costs. Third, the commodity outlook is uneven across inputs, with cocoa singled out as volatile and sugar and edible oils at elevated levels.
